7x50 porro prism binoculars are a fantastic compromise size. While the 7x doesn't provide quite as much magnification as the 8x model, when combined with the large 50mm objective lens, you get a lot more light making this model extremely good for low light situations.

They're compact enough to be easily carried, and the porro prism design makes them extra tough. Porro prism designs also have a wide field of view, and critically, never need to be focused: these are always in focus no matter how far away your target is.
